I'm unable to donate for several reasons - I've got an abnormally high number of blood platelets, which you need for blood clotting. So I asked the doctor at hospital if I could donate my platelets once a month - platelets are very much needed by some people. Unfortunately not - apparently they are the "wrong sort of platelets". *roll eyes*

If I could donate I most certainly would. Blood donation is important but platelet donation is also very useful - although the procedure is slightly longer than a simple donation.
