AAhhh how I understand. And ,sadly, the last words spoken between me and dad, before I was notified that he had gone into the hospice were "Even if you're my daughter, you're the biggest asshole I know", to which I replied "I'll see you at your funeral". Although, holding his hand during a night long vigil, the time came when I felt him stop. A gutteral, feral wail came from the deepest part of me, totally shocking and unexpected. I do feel there is a sense of forgiveness, but my dad never ever encouraged me in any of my talents or interests; I was the "dumb" one.

So listen up, daddies (and some moms too)
I can not understand how any parent can feel like that about their children. No matter whether you and your child has differences,i have always felt a parents love is unconditional. A BIG HUG for you too.Smilie_hug  He was "The dumb one"
