I don't truly think any of us who happen to be Caucasian can truly speak of racism because we have never experieneced it truly as they did in Alabam when I was growing up. I saw Black folks treated in ways I would not treat a dog. It left a huge impression on a young mind.. The legecay of how Black folks feel would be best spoken of by someone of colour .All the rest is supposition on our part as we have not dealt with what they have.. Or better yet.. read Black history and learn empathy
On my first trip South, to Memphis and New Orleans, I did experience a little of the "other side" especially in New Orleans, when I went onto a convenience store, with all black employees -all chit chat stopped as I walked in,and there was total silence when I paid for my item, and a dirty look from the cashier, too...And also from a streetcar driver.
