I do not believe atheists claim that the Universe always existed.

I know some that do.

We don't have to account for this physical reality either - It simply is.

Per the leading scientists of our times, everything comprising space-time is made from energy strings. Yet no one has ever seen one and no one has ever found any evidence of any through experiment. Thus if they are right, physical reality is nothing more than a macro illusion much like the image in a photograph composed of colored dots on a sheet of molecules linked by vibrating atoms. Nothing simple about that IMHO.

If this Universe always existed, an eternity lies in the past, and so, this present is unreachable.

This probably sounds good after a few beers with friends, but the logic sucks. Like a lady speaker once said to her audience: "Yesterday is history; tomorrow is a mystery; all you really have is today." Besides, scientists currently believe the universe is something like 18 billion years old. A long time, yes; but clearly not an eternity.

Understand that I am not debating with you -- merely discussing your points from my perspective.
