......of Autumn, and warm clothes! I don't know about anyone else , but i adore the season for many reasons - some say people naturally prefer the time of year in which they are born, which makes some sense to me, since the sense of smell is very strong and imprints itself on the memory. There is so much going on , at least in Canada, for the month - there is The splendour of the trees changin colour making a landscape fit for oil paintings, but more vibrant. There is Thanksgiving, then *cough* my birthday, and then Hallowe'en! All the good last crops are in the marketplace - gourds, squash, late greens, root vegetables and crisp apples YUM! However, autumn can be very fickle wather-wise, and some days start out nicely and then turn wet and cold, and vice versa. One has to dress accordingly, as in Springtime, with layering being the best option, or sometimes just one good warm sweater or jacket is enough. It is also time for socks and shoes or boots.
I am always happy to have something substantial on my feet, and I don't give up a snappy look for warmth either - plenty of stylish warm footwear to be had if you look for it. I will begin with Footwear, since that is the first major change to our evryday dress (This is , of course, for regions where the temps do drop).
Here are a few selections which can be found o sale in some websites for footwear right now - from fashionable to practical, these boots are good for most people's taste as well as being well made and warm.
The fad at the moment is "fur' liked boots, preferably with the "fur' folded over the tops of the boots. You can even but the 'fur' inserts separately to put in your own boots. My personal favourite here is the last pair, which suit my taste, and are also rugged for country winters.
