I'm pretty sure I'd be a liberal voter if I lived in the US. Certainly Obama and Clinton are the presidents I've liked most, albeit from over here.

Where liberalness can be blind to my mind is when the ousting of a dictator is supported by liberals in the west, when what replaces the dictator is something more far oppressive than the dictator ever was, and the process of the political change results in such far-reaching suffering as to dwarf anything that took place under the dictator, I wonder if civil war, widespread death and mass homelessness is actually a price worth paying for democracy. What I say is as someone outside obviously but from what I see I'd rather live in the Libya, Egypt and Syria of the past.

There are so many different Islamic sects and each one believes that they have the god given right to rule over all the others.  There will never be real and lasting peace in these countries.  They will have to fight it out over the coming decades, or centuries, until just one is left standing.  It's so sad to see any religion cause so much harm in this day and age.  I think we should butt out and let them fight it out to their own end.  I just hate so see their women and children suffer and die because the dominate male leaders are willing to sacrifice them to win their wars.
