We got home late Monday night after a week visiting with my sister and brother in law in Renton, Wash. , a suburb of Seattle. It was only my second time there since they moved over 15 years ago. We didn't do much , but she has a big house, so there were books and DVDs and the garden to just relax with. We went out to a couple of restaurants and did a little shopping . The weather was typical for there, but the flowers were spectacular. I am a person who likes to look my best when I go out, and I am often stopped by people who remark on my wardrobe. I always enjoy that, but one day when we were out, a man stopped us and told me I was "dressed like a superhero'...I laughed and thanked him, and then my sister told me that "the superheroes' are actually a group of people ho go around the city acting as sort of crime stoppers, and they dress up in costumes !

We also went to a concert "Steam Powered Giraffe', a musical pantomime group with a 'steampunk' flavour. They are very good and funny and just very entertaining. The lineup of people was something to see, with almost everyone in some sort of costume, either their own version of the band's "robot' make-up or steampunk gear. People were all taking pictures of everyone. I accidentally ran into one of the band members (Rabbit), and he was very sweet. I didn't bug him for a picture or an autograph. We all enjoyed the show very much. Another 'steampunk" band, Abney Park, opened the show.
Now we are home, and though the temps are mild, the wind has been howling for days. We had some rain, and all the snow is disappearing fast, but I hope it warms up a lot more in the week to come; we are expecting guests next this weekend.
Good to be home!

The "tutu" on my 'robot' costume has fibre optic wires in it, which flash on and off with a little battery pack
